Onshore Mats
Submar’s articulating concrete mats are used primarily for pipeline protection, erosion control and shoreline stabilization. They are a proven long-term solution to traditional alternatives such as riprap, gabions, structural concrete, grout mats and other durable hard-armor protection systems. These mats, which are also used for pipeline separations, consist of a flexible, interlocking set of concrete blocks connected by a series of cables. When the proposed use is to protect an exposure, the mats arrive at the job site laced together for optimal installation time and performance, forming an erosion-resistant protective barrier. Compared to traditional trenching, articulated concrete mats are a safe, efficient and excellent solution for reducing environmental impacts to our coastal areas.
