Regional Sales Managers Can Evaluate Your Erosion Issues

Erosion issues can be especially troublesome for those working on a pipeline project. Pipeline exposure that is unaccounted for could quickly turn expensive or cause project delays. Fortunately, Submar’s regional sales managers are well-trained and can survey sites to evaluate for erosion issues, washouts, and possible pipeline exposure risks.

Benefits of a Regional Manager Evaluation – Pipeline Exposure

If your company chooses to work with a regional sales manager, you’ll receive a full evaluation of your job site. After surveying your project site, the regional sales managers will send their data and reports to our engineering department. Once our team of engineers receives your data, they will craft a site-specific solution to mitigate any erosion risks.

Our engineers typically suggest implementing Submar concrete mats in some fashion. These mats can be used to stabilize soils, which will then help prevent subsoil drainage. The mats also encourage vegetation growth by allowing re-vegetation through the mat. The mats bring maximum stability and protection to your projects. However, they do not interfere with navigation, commercial activities, or recreational activities. The mats can be joined together and installed as a single unit.

The mats are buried just below the mud line, which is an effective strategy to help ensure a smooth surface while also preventing joint-use issues.

How the Surveyors Will Conduct Their Tests

This post by Lightcraft Tech outlines how our regional sales managers will survey your project. Surveying can be completed in less than a day, often in a few hours depending on the size of your project and the visibility of your pipeline. If your project has lights, wires, or other electrical equipment, the survey time will increase because of the frequency in which the managers will need to move equipment. It may seem tedious or take a while, but placing multiple survey points can help the managers accurately capture data points.

Our managers will begin by setting up the survey equipment. They will first set up equipment at the point of origin. All future measurements will be taken at this point. The survey team will try to find a place that has as many sightlines as possible, which will cut down on project time.

The team will then assemble the tripod and the spreaders, otherwise known as the tripod stabilizer. The stabilizer serves as a base for the tripod and contains holes where the tripod legs can be inserted. After the team constructs the base, they will then mount the survey gun and add the battery compartment.

After this, the team will need to take some time to level the gun so that they can record accurate measurements for the engineers. After the gun is leveled correctly, the team will set up Total Station Communication. Lastly, the regional sales managers will configure and calibrate the survey gun. From there, they will begin collecting project data and provide you the results needed to complete your pipeline.
